The thriller is the first feature to come out of UK independent production company Ratio Film.

Shooting has just wrapped on the first feature to come out of new UK based production, sales and distribution company Ratio Film, a road thriller called Passengers.

John Hales has written and directed the film about five young men whose drunken encounter with a young nurse whilst driving from a music festival back to London comes back to haunt them. It is based on a story by Hales and Carole Budgen.

Anna Popplewell and Jack Derges star alongside a host of British newcomers including Danny Szam, Ian Weichardt, Calvin Dean, Tom Bacon and Sophie Colquhoun.

Richard Turner and Richard Hart are producing for their new outfit Ration Film, with Jim Carr, Rip Colen and Scope Colen onboard as executive producers.

The project has been financed independently with plans to release in the first half of 2012.

“After careful consideration we felt it was the right project to start our upcoming slate of films with. John (Hales) has a great energy and vision for his work and this comes across abundantly well in the performances we are seeing on screen. We are highly confident that we will deliver a film that will be great fun with some riveting twists and turns,” said Hart.

Passengers is an ambitious project, but we had a fantastic cast and crew and everyone worked their socks off.  We are all looking forward to seeing the fruits of our labour,” said Turner.
