Gillian Anderson, Dominic West, Rosamund Pike and Daniel Kaluuya are starring in the sequel to Johnny English which has begun shooting today.

Shooting has begun on Johnny English Reborn, which sees Rowan Atkinson reprising his role as the clueless secret agent, alongside Gillian Anderson, Dominic West, Rosamund Pike and Daniel Kaluuya.

The Working Title/Universal Pictures film will shoot for 13 weeks in the UK and Hong Kong and is being directed by Oliver Parker. The screenplay has been written by Hamish McColl, who also wrote Mr Bean’s Holiday.

The sequel catches up with intelligence officer Johnny English, (who has been honing his skills in a remote region of Asia since the original in 2003) as he tries to stop a group of international assassins before they eliminate the leader of China. Anderson will play MI7’s director, West stars as a special agent, whilst Pike has been cast as MI7’s behavioural psychologist.

Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are producing with Chris Clark, who produced the first Johnny English. Rowan Atkinson, Debra Hayward and Liza Chasin are executive producers.
