Pegasus Media Project

Economic and Social Impact Award

Winner: Pegasus Media Project (Dallas Film Commission, US)

To win, a film commission, production or studio had to demonstrate commitment to the local community while filming. Employing and educating local crew and demonstrating a positive environmental and cultural conscience showed how the production connected with the community in terms of recruitment, education and environment. Judges looked for evidence of the positive impact the production had on the community.

Dallas Film Commission, in partnership with Pegasus Media Project, showed an effective and inclusive model for workforce development that connects education, training and employment as a pipeline to the film industry. “A great programme that encourages filmmakers into the industry,” one judge commented.

By engaging participants as young as 13 through to adults joining the workforce, the initiative creates sustained pathways with early exposure to paid professional roles. The winning entry said that in 2025 alone the programmes served 280 participants (a 53% increase year on year) while reflecting the diversity of Dallas and expanding access for historically underrepresented communities.
