Angel is moving into international pre-sales after acquiring worldwide rights to the upcoming western thriller Rode To Ruin that will see Michael Keaton direct and star alongside Morgan Freeman.
The production from Freeman and Lori McCreary’s Revelations Entertainment and Keaton’s George & Leona Productions will be available to international buyers at next week’s TIFF: The Market running September 10-16.
The story follows a retired US Marshal whose 40-year search for his wife’s killer leads him to an aging outlaw losing his memory and a buried truth neither man may survive. Angel will disrtribute in the US in 2027.
“We’ve spent the last two years building an international distribution network that have released Angel movies theatrically in more than 95 countries, and presales are the natural next step for that business,” said Jared Geesey, EVP of international at Angel.
“Instead of waiting for a finished film, our partners can now come in early, and that funding helps get the films our Guild wants made.”
