‘All Quiet On The Western Front’, ‘Belfast’

Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast and Edward Berger’s All Quiet On The Western Front have both won two craft prizes each at the European Film Awards.

They are among eight winners of the Excellence Awards for arts and craft which will be presented at the European Film Awards on December 10 in Reykjavík.

For Belfast, Jim Clay has won the prize for European Production Design, while Charlotte Walter won the European Costume Design prize.

All Quiet On The Western Front won the European Make-up & Hair prize for Heike Merker and the European Visual Effects prize for Frank Petzold, Viktor Müller and Markus Frank.

Kate McCullough, a 2020 Screen Star of Tomorrow, won the coveted European Cinematography prize for her work on Irish language feature The Quiet Girl.

The European Editing award went to Özcan Vardar and Eytan İpeker for Turkish thriller Burning Days.

European Original Score has been won by Paweł Mykietyn for Cannes jury prize winner EO.

Meanwhile, European Sound went to Simone Paolo Olivero, Paolo Benvenuti, Benni Atria, Marco Saitta, Ansgar Frerich and Florian Holzner for Italian drama The Hole.

A special eight-member jury chose the winners based on the European Film Awards Feature Film Selection. They were: Henrich Borarós (production designer, Czech Republic), Pascal Capitolin (sound designer, France), Jaime Cebrian (VFX supervisor, Spain), Charlotte Chang (make-up & hair artist, Germany), Christina Georgiou (composer, Cyprus), Magdalena Labuz (costume designer, Luxembourg), Sarah McTeigue (editor, Ireland/Italy), and Nathalie Pitters (cinematographer, UK).
