Damian Lewis is attached to star in supernatural black comedy The Radleys, directed by Bafta-winning director Euros Lyn, whose credits include Netflix hit show Heartstopper and feature Dream Horse.

Cornerstone is handling worldwide sales and distribution and will launch sales at the AFM next month.

Based on Matt Haig’s novel, The Radleys is a Genesius Pictures production, produced by Debbie Gray with Lewis as executive producer through his production company, Ginger Biscuit Entertainment. Gray most recently produced Emma Thompson-starrer Good Luck To You, Leo Grande.

Cornerstone and Genesius most recently teamed up on Good Luck To You, Leo Grande which launched earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival. The two companies are also working on Kevin Macdonald’s upcoming The Iceman and are partners in The Reset Collective, the Australian production and distribution company that launched 2020.

The Radleys is based on a script developed by British comedian Jo Brand and is written by Talitha Stevenson. The film will start shooting in the UK May 2023.

The Radleys is about a seemingly ordinary family, who are actually vampires. Only the parents Helen and Peter, played by Lewis, know about the family’s true nature: they are ‘abstainers’, vampires who choose not to drink blood despite their natural cravings. Their teenagers, vegan Clara and lovesick Rowan, have no idea, until one evening Clara is attacked by a boy in her class and her bloodthirsty instincts take over, forcing her parents to finally reveal the truth.

With this revelation, Rowan questions his own identity. The temptation to try his first taste of blood grows stronger with the arrival of uncle Will, also played by Lewis, Peter’s twin brother and a practicing vampire, who pulls back the curtain on his vampiric life of hedonism and freedom.

Euros Lyn and Damian Lewis previously collaborated on Dream Horse. Lyn’s previous credits include Bafta winners Damiola, Our Loved Boy and Last Tango in Halifax.
