Greece’s Heretic has boarded Ruben Östlund’s Triangle Of Sadness as a co-producer.
Plattform Produktion, the company run by the Swedish director of The Square and Force Majeure with longtime producer Erik Hemmendorff, leads the production.
Athens-based Heretic, headed by Giorgos Karnavas and Konstantinos Kontovrakis, will also line produce the Greek part of the shoot. The production will shoot for eight weeks in multiple locations throughout the Aegean and Ionian Sea in mid-2020.

Triangle Of Sadness is a satire set in the fashion world, which takes place on a luxury yacht that ends up on a deserted island where hierarchies are turned upside down.
Shooting will start in mid-February in Goteborg and Trollhättan, Sweden.
Co-producers are Film i Väst and SVT with support from the Swedish Film Institute. Philippe Bober’s Coproduction Office handles world sales and SF Studios has secured Nordic distribution rights. Endeavour Content and 30WEST will handle US rights.
The $11m (€10m) film is the the director’s biggest production to date and his first entirely in the English language.
Hemmendorff said: “We have found fantastic locations and we feel at home in Greece. With Heretic, we share the same approach to film-making and appreciate their audacious approach to finding creative solutions as we proceed.”
“It feels so nice to team up with a friend like Erik whom I’ve known since our years at ACE, and an artist like Ruben whose work has been groundbreaking for our generation,” added Karnavas. “I’m sure that the locations of the film will make a lot of people marvel about the richness and the diversity of the Greek landscape.”
Heretic won the Eurimages Co-Production Award in 2018 and the company’s credits include Wasted Youth, Son of Sofia and Boy Eating the Bird’s Food.
