Buff Studios and Celsius Entertainment have acquired Elijah Bynum’s Magazine Dreams starring Jonathan Majors for the UK and Ireland.

The psychological drama first premiered at Sundance in 2023 where it won the special jury award for Creative Vision. It follows an amateur bodybuilder who battles with his physical limits and inner demons on the road to recognition.

Magazine Dreams will hit UK cinemas on December 5 with Irish cinemas to follow shortly thereafter.

The film was set to be released by Searchlight Pictures in the US in December 2023 but was pulled in the run-up to Major’s domestic abuse trial, of which he was eventually convicted. Briarcliff Entertainment eventually released the feature in March 2025.

Further cast includes Haley Bennett, Taylour Paige, and former Mr. Universe Mike O’Hearn. Jennifer Fox, Dan Gilroy, Jeffrey Soros, and Simon Horsman produced, and the executive producers include Majors through his Tall Street Productions, and Luke Rodgers and Andrew Blau for Los Angeles Media Fund.
