Fledgling distributor Row K Entertainment has scheduled its 2026 theatrical release slate of films acquired at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) – with Gus van Sant’s Dead Man’s Wire the first to go and confirmed for an awards-qualifying release on December 12.
Led by president Megan Colligan, Row K will open Dead Man’s Wire in limited release on January 9, 2026, before expanding nationwide in the US and across Canada on January 16, 2026.
Bill Skarsgård and Al Pacino star in the true story of the 1977 kidnapping that turned aspiring Indianapolis entrepreneur Tony Kiritsis into an outlaw folk hero. The Venice world premiere received its North American premiere in TIFF and also stars Dacre Montgomery, Cary Elwes, Myha’la, and Colman Domingo.
Maude Apatow’s directorial debut Poetic License starring Leslie Mann, Cooper Hoffman, and Andrew Barth Feldman will open wide across North America on May 15, 2026. The film follows Liz, a former therapist and soon-to-be empty nester, who relocates to a new town for her husband’s job and becomes the centre of attention of two college friends.
Jaume Collet-Serra’s action thriller Cliffhanger stars Pierce Brosnan and Lily James and is the 2026 slate anchor, opening nationwide on August 28, 2026. Row K acquired the film after a TIFF market screening. The re-imagining of the 1993 action film that starred Sylvester Stallone (who has no involvement in the new feature) follows a seasoned mountaineer and his daughter who run a luxury chalet in the Dolomites. When a weekend trip with a billionaire’s son is targeted by kidnappers, the daughter, haunted by a previous climbing accident, must confront her fears and save her family.
Charlie Harper from filmmakers Tom Dean and Mac Eldridge stars Nick Robinson and Emilia Jones and will open nationwide on September 25, 2026. The film follows two young adults whose relationship unfolds across the shifting terrain of their early twenties as they navigate the exhilaration and uncertainty of growing up together – and apart.
“The evolving film distribution landscape has inspired us to move quickly to build a slate that reflects Row K’s own approach – balancing daring true stories, intimate character-driven films, and high-stakes thrillers – all designed to connect with audiences in theatres,” said Christopher Woodrow and Raj Singh, principals at Row K backer Media Capital Technologies.
Row K recently announced three key leadership roles with Mo Rhim as Chief Revenue Officer, Ben Carlson as Chief Marketing Officer, and Steve Garrett as head of distribution and acquisitions.
