
UK film and TV actor Micheal Ward has been cleared of rape.
A jury acquitted Ward of two charges of rape and three of sexual assault at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday (July 10).
Ward was accused of raping a woman in the back of a car after meeting at a London nightclub on January 2, 2023. During the trial, Ward said the encounter was “wholly consensual”.
Ward has starred in films including Blue Story, The Old Guard, Eddington and Empire Of Light, for which he earned a best supporting actor Bafta nomination.
He won the Bafta rising star award in 2020, and has also appeared in TV series Top Boy and The A List.
