Thirteen projects will take part in the annual June Directors and Screenwriters Labs. Emerging filmmakers and projects are selected from the United States, Italy, Romania, Australia, Algeria, France, Chile and the UK.

Lab fellows will get a hands-on experience, workshops on scripts, and collaborate with actors. Projects supported by the initiative will receive support from the feature film program.

“For independent artists in particular, it can be challenging to receive specialised support and encouragement,” Sundance Institute executive director Keri Putnam said.

“As our offerings for artists continue to grow our hope is that filmmakers have added incentive to remain true to their visions throughout the creative process.”

The labs are set to take place at the Sundance Resort from May 28-Jun 28.
