The Tribeca Film Institute and Gucci have picked seven projects to receive a total of $100,000 in finishing finance from the Gucci Tribeca Documentary Fund.

In its third year, the fund, which gives money to US and international documentary filmmakers with feature-length projects documenting pressing social issues, got 390 submissions from 23 countries.

Recipients from the US are: Rachel Boynton’s African Deep; Tom Rielly’s Moving Windmills: The William Kamkwamba Story; Marlo Poras and Yu Ying Wu Chou’s The Mosou Sisters; Daniele Anastasion and Eric Strauss’s The Redemption of General Butt Naked; and Kim Snyder’s Welcome to Shelbyville.

Recipients from the UK are: Jerry Rothwell’s Donor 150; and Victoria Stevenson’s The Warlord’s Wife.
