UK post production company Prime Focus is launching its own production division, Prime Focus Productions, specialising in TV dramas.

Headed up by newly appointed MD Rod Brown, the first project to come out of the division will be an adaptation of Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s best selling novel, Good Omens, scripted by Monty Python’s Terry Jones and Small Soldiers writer Gavin Scott, which will be co-produced by STV.

Also on the slate is a TV drama starring Sir David Jason which is being developed by Caleb Ranson, whose writing credits include ITV dramas Diamond Geezer and Distant Shores.

Brown, who was previously partner and executive producer at Mob Film Company, said it was “very exciting to be part of such an ambitious project.”

“We set up Prime Focus Productions to produce fantastic television drama and we’ve hit the ground running,” he added.

Also joining the company will be Rebecca Fisher, who was previously creative executive at Infinity Features Entertainment in Vancouver.
