The director’s first film to be financed by Medusa Film is currently in pre-production ahead of a Jul 11 start date in Rome.

The cast will feature, in alphabetical order, Allen himself, Alec Baldwin, Roberto Benigni, Penelope Cruz, Judy Davis, Jesse Eisenberg, Greta Gerwig and Ellen Page.

Co-stars include Antonio Albanese, Fabio Armiliata, Alessandra Mastronardi, Ornella Muti, Flavio Parenti, Alison Pill, Riccardo Scamarcio and Alessandro Tiberi.

The Bop Decameron is a Gravier Productions film produced by Letty Aronson and Stephen Tenenbaum.

Allen’s Midnight In Paris opened Cannes last month and has grossed more than $21m after five weeks in US theatres through Sony Pictures Classics.
