The Vancouver-based animation studio announced on Wednesday [20] it will commence production on its latest feature on Mar 4.

Escape From Planet Earth [pictured] opened through The Weinstein Company last weekend and grossed $21.1 in its first four days.

The untitled project is scheduled for delivery in autumn 2014.

“The financial closing for our next CG theatrical project further builds on the momentum of Rainmaker’s impressive launch into the feature film arena,” said president Michael Hefferon. 

“We look forward to announcing the specifics of the project, which is expected to be the first of a slate of films to be produced by the company.”
