Germany's leading producer-distributor Constantin Film, who took six Lolas home last weekend for Tom Tykwer's Perfume - The Story Of A Murderer, has concluded a three-year first-look deal with the Cologne-based production outfit of Sonke Wortmann and Tom Spiess.
The aim of the collaboration is the development, production and exploitation of co-productions between Constantin and Little Shark whose production credits have to date included Wortmann's The Miracle Of Bern and the 2006 World Cup documentary Deutschland Ein Sommermärchen as well as Christian Zubert's Lammbock and The Treasure Of The White Falcons.
It is not the first time Constantin has worked with Wortmann: the Munich company produced some of his earliest feature film successes including the breakthrough Maybe, Maybe Not (Der Bewegte Mann, 1994), Hera Linds Das Superweib (1995) and Der Campus (1997).
Commenting on this new formal collaboration, Wortmann said: 'Constantin Film AG is for us exactly the right partner at the right time.'
