Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP) has rebranded as The Gotham Film & Media Institute, or The Gotham.
The move aligns the name of the non-profit, which has existed for more than four decades, with its awards show, which marks its 30th anniversary at the 2021 Gotham Awards on January 11.
The Gotham Film & Media Institute executive director Jeffrey Sharp said the rebrand comes into effect on January 11.
The late Chadwick Boseman will be honoured with a posthumous Gothams Actor Tribute at the virtual interactive ceremony from Cipriani Wall Street in New York, while fellow Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom star Viola Davis will receive the Actress Tribute.
