Voltage Pictures has added horror-thriller The Curse Of Rosalie to its Cannes market slate ahead of the market next month.

The film follows a couple who move their troubled young daughter, played by Madeleine McGraw, to a quaint Midwestern town. Soon after they arrive, neighbours start to die. Fearing an evil entity has followed them and possessed Rosalie, the parents visit a Native American seer and resolve to do whatever it takes to free Rosalie’s soul.

Will Klipstine (The Evolution Of Andrew Andrews) directed the film from his screenplay. The Curse Of Rosalie shot on location in Minnesota and recently completed post-production. Klipstine produces alongside Amy Mills. Steven Reed C. Katherina Anderson, Irene Bedard, John W. Bosher and Chris Charles serve as executive producers.

The key cast includes Bedard (Pocahontas, Tree Of Life), Klipstine, Amanda MacDonald (CSI: Miami, The Mentalist) and Steve Monroe (Promising Young Woman).

“We wanted to do a paranormal Hitchcock-style film that focuses on how far a parent would go for a child,” said Klipstine. “And the answer is they would literally face the devil.”

“Will has created the kind of elevated horror that genre fans will love, he is definitely a talented filmmaker to watch,” said Voltage president and COO Jonathan Deckter, who negotiated the deal with Bosher and Charles of Throughline Films. “There are so many twists and turns that are sure to set pulses racing.”

Voltage’s film slate includes action-thriller Last Seen Alive starring Gerard Butler, Jaimie Alexander, Russell Hornsby and Ethan Embry, which is set to open on June 3; and biopic Reagan with Dennis Quaid, Penelope Ann Miller and John Voight.

The company is also representing worldwide rights on Roger Kumble’s YA adaption Beautiful Disaster starring Dylan Sprouse, Virginia Gardner, Austin North and Libe Barer.
