Michael K Williams from The Wire is set to star as the late hip-hop artist Ol’ Dirty Bastard (aka Russell Jones). K5 International is financing the project and will handle all worldwide sales.

Dirty White Boy chronicles the rise of Jarred Weisfeld, a 22-year-old manager and his misadventures with the rapper leading up to the performer’s death in 2004. 

Joaquin Baca-Asay makes his feature directorial debut from a screenplay by Brent Hoff.

Parts & Labor run by Lars Knudsen and Jay Van Hoy will produce alongside Todd Hagopian of Ocean Size Pictures

Parts & Labor previously produced Beginners. Ocean Size Pictures is in development on the comedy Tackling Larry Csonka and the giant squid action-adventure El Diablo Rojo!
