Paul Weitz to commence Admission shoot with Tina Fey
Alison Thompson (pictured) and her team at Focus Features International will introduce the comedy drama to Cannes buyers this week. Paul Rudd and Michael Sheen also star.
Principal photography begins this week and the shoot will take place in New York and New Jersey. Fey plays a by-the-book Princeton admissions officer who decides to bend the rules to admit the long-lost son whom she gave up for adoption years ago.
Gloria Reuben, Wallace Shawn and Lily Tomlin also star.
Weitz and Karen Croner adapted the screenplay from Jean Hanff Korelitz’s 2009 novel of the same name. Weitz most recently adapted and directed Being Flynn for Focus and he is producing Admission with Andrew Miano, his partner in the production company Depth Of Field, and Kerry Kohansky-Roberts. Caroline Baron serves as executive producer.

FFI has handled or is handling international sales on Wes Anderson’s festival opener Moonrise Kingdom, Sundance comedy hit For A Good Time, Call…, thriller Closed Circuit starring Eric Bana and Rebecca Hall, Gus Van Sant’s drama Promised Land with Matt Damon and John Krasinski, Joe Wright’s epic romance Anna Karenina and period piece Hyde Park On Hudson, directed by Roger Michell and starring Bill Murray and Laura Linney.
