Bafta Rising Star award winner Adam Deacon, director and star of Anuvahood, will be joined by For Sama and The Reason I Jump composer Nainita Desai and a host of other names from the film and TV industry as speakers at the The Media Production and Technology Show 2022 (MPTS).

The free seminar programme, which launched in 2016 and is making its return after a two-year pandemic hiatus, will be taking place from May 11-12 at the Olympia London.

Focuses of the event will be on sustainability, virtual production and mental health, with more than 170 speakers across eight theatres, including keynote presentations, panel discussions and educational sessions, in what is the event’s biggest programme to-date.

Further speakers confirmed include co-founder and creative director of Bandicoot TV Daniel Nettleton, TV presenter Ria Hebden, veteran sound re-recording mixer Chris Burdon, who will discuss his work on the forthcoming Top Gun: Maverick, plus composers Benji Merrison and David Lowe.

Case studies

After its launch in 2019, the production and lighting theatre will return running sessions on location filming, production budgeting, health and safety on set, new kit and tech reviews and sustainability in production.

The audio theatre will offer case studies, how-to sessions and product workshops featuring the latest equipment and techniques for projects from documentaries to live events and feature films.

Visitors to the post-production theatre will have access to tailor-made training sessions from Blackmagic Design across both days and will hear from some of the UK senior leaders managing post production and senior graders in the UK including Jet Omeshibi from Goldcrest Post and Paul Harrison from Residence Pictures.

New theatres for this edition will focus on the rise of virtual production in content creation, plus there will be the unveiling of a new technology theatre.
