Sony Pictures International Productions (SPIP) and Film4 have wrapped production on Greed, a satire from Michael Winterbottom starring Steve Coogan, Isla Fisher and David Mitchell.

First images of Coogan in the film have been released. Set in the celebrity-heavy world of luxury fashion, the film follows the build-up to the 60th birthday party of a retail billionaire on the Greek island of Mykonos.

Newly announced cast members include Sophie Cookson, Shirley Henderson, Asa Butterfield, Sarah Solemani, Shanina Shaik, Dinita Gohil, Asim Chaudhry, Pearl Mackie, Jonny Sweet, Ollie Locke and Stephen Fry.

Sacha Baron Cohen was previously announced in the lead role when the project was first called Greed. He was replaced by Coogan on the project, and that title has now been confirmed.

Winterbottom co-wrote the film with Veep and The Thick Of It writer Sean Gray. Producers are Melissa Parmenter (Coogan’s The Trip film and series) for Revolution Films and DJ Films’ Damian Jones.

SPIP will release the film worldwide in late 2019.

Greed marks the latest collaboration between Coogan and Winterbottom, with the pair working together on the improvised The Trip comedy series and film. They have previously worked together on entertainment biopics 24 Hour Party People and The Look Of Love.

Film4 also worked with Winterbottom on both those titles; Greed is their sixth collaboration with the director.

Laine Kline and Luke Scrase are overseeing the title for SPIP, with Daniel Battsek and Ollie Madden for Film4.
