EXCLUSIVE: The International Federation of Film Distributors’ and Publishers’ Associations (FIAD) has named Adeline Chauveau as its new secretary general.
Chauveau is a former managing director of Europa International, the network of European film sales companies.
She later joined Business France, where she managed a range of international initiatives aimed at helping French cultural and creative industries expand across Europe and globally.
Chauveau succeeds Robert Heslop at FIAD, which represents national organisations of film distribution companies.
Heslop left in January to become head of office and director of government affairs at the British Chambers of Commerce in Brussels.
Emanuele Grassia will continue in his role as FIAD’s policy advisor.
Chauveau said: “With a background in public affairs related to cinema and European policy, I am eager to contribute to the collective goals of the cinema ecosystem and to ensure that FIAD’s voice continues to be heard. I look forward to building on Robert and Emanuele’s excellent work in advancing the organisation’s mission.”
FIAD president, Victor Hadida of Metropolitan Films, said: “We are delighted to welcome Adeline Chauveau at a time of significant political engagement. FIAD is actively collaborating with European institutions and partners across the industry on key issues for our members, such as AgoraEU and the fight against piracy. In the context of important changes in the sector, FIAD will continue to advocate the critical role played by film distributors in the film ecosystem in Europe, investing in films and connecting films to audiences in the cinema and other media.”
